Elite Team

The Elite Team

The Elite Competition Team takes an estimate of 5-10 hours of class per week in addition to rehearsal time, depending on their age bracket, as we require all elite competition team members to take ALL CLASSESS OFFERED in their age groups. (Older students on dance teams would be the only exception, as their dance team hours this year can substitute for a couple of classes on the roster.) The Elite Team is geared towards students who pick up skills and choreography quickly in their classes and stand out in technique and performance ability. In addition, they are cast in dance numbers that are brought to regional and potentially national competitions to compete against other studios. Through these competitions, they also get the opportunity to attend conventions with some of the dance industry’s leading teachers and choreographers. This special group of the competition team is expected to be role model students, with exceptional behavior in class, setting a standard. We are looking for hard working students with a passion who want to push themselves to the next level.

The Elite Team consists of:

Attendance to the Technique Intensive in June, the July Summer Class Series, and attendance to the Guest Teacher Pop Ups in August.

Attending 3-4 regional competitions with the possibility of a summer national convention/competition.

Attendance at 2-3 regional conventions through which they take class from some of the industry’s leading teachers and choreographers, while also getting the ability to audition for scholarships within the convention circuit

Community Performance Opportunities and Philanthropy when available

Attendance to masterclasses, intensives, and guest workshops in the studio or at other local venues when offered

Placement in exclusive classes for team members only

Experience in mock auditions, learning audition techniques, and unique styles of dance not always offered regularly, how to improv, and how to market yourself as a professional

**Elite Competition Team members will be required to compete in 1 full team large group/production number, and at least one smaller group dance. Additionally, they have the option to be cast in upwards of 3 more group dances, as well as solos, duos and trios if interested. They will also be cast in an additional production number in our annual Revue combining all members of the team programs**

Students interested in participating must have a near perfect attendance record, positive behavior, a strong work ethic, and show advancement in technique and performance ability.
